Dear Fellow Americans,
Sadly, I have had the unfortunate experience of watching neighbors, family members, and friends oppose one another and are no longer on speaking terms. My neighbors used to have potluck dinners, fish on the weekends, game day, and talk across the fence to one another. Now, they don't attend game night, potluck, or any of our free activities, they hardly speak, and their children no longer play together.
Please. I beg you. Please.
As we approach the upcoming election, we must remember that we are all part of one beautiful, wonderful, and fantastic nation. We are not perfect, but no one walking the Earth's surface is without flaws. Some of us are tall, short, exceptionally attractive, unattractive, average. Some of us are brunette or blonde and have brown or red hair - blue, brown, green, gray, or eye color in between. Some of us are from other countries and have different cultural norms and melanin levels that cause us to look different.
There is not one human or a group of humans within the culture where you won't find someone who has done despicable things. There is a thief, robber, killer, rapist, molester - criminal in every community. There is a single mother, a deadbeat parent, a mentally challenged, homosexual, heterosexual, transexual, dog lover, a cat lover, a young couple, and a middle-aged and senior couple in every community. There is a couple who has children, one who doesn't, and one who has decided they don't want children, and there is the couple who wanted children but, through some tragic event, learned they couldn't bring life into the world. These folks are in every community.
No matter the backstory that brought you here, we are together in this great country, and our shared values, interests, and aspirations unite us. While we may have differing political beliefs and opinions, we mustn't allow the election to divide us.
While it's natural for emotions to run high during this time, we must engage in respectful and open-minded discussions. Each of us has a voice, and we deserve to be heard, and through these conversations, we can truly understand each other.
Regardless of the election's outcome, let's strive to find common ground and work together to build a better future for our country. Our strength lies in our ability to come together, despite our differences, and find solutions that benefit us all.
Let's hold the torch of tolerance, understanding, and unity as we navigate this election season. Together, we can rise above division and create a brighter tomorrow for all Americans. Our unity is not just a goal but a powerful force that can shape the future of our nation.
Sincerely,
Cleansing Grace
